Year 2016...Humble Submission to God

Today is Good Friday, March 25, 2016. Today, I reflect again on Christ’s death on the Cross. A love story that seem to have a tragic ending to those without the eyes of faith, but for those who have humbly accepted the grace of God, it is a symbolic day when our Lord, Jesus Christ has claim victory over death.
My last posting was back in 2014.  Since then, I have been engaged with worldly affairs, giving priority to my career for almost 5 years now. The Lord has been walking close to me throughout this stage of my life. I feel Him and I thank Him.  As in all worldly pursuits, these remain temporary and cannot satisfy the soul.
As I read the Imitation of Christ again, I am reminded of, “Vanity of Vanities – all is vanity (Ecclesiastes 1:2) except to love and serve God alone (Deuteronomy 6:13)”.  Thomas A. Kempis reminds us that it is futile to seek for riches or public approval.  It is futile to be a slave to bodily desires and to crave for things which will have bad consequences. If is futile to desire a long life is you do not wish for a good life.  It is futile to think only about this world and to ignore eternal life.  It is futile to love temporary things and not to move towards the place of everlasting joy.
2016 is also the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy declared by Pope Francis.  As Catholics, we are called to greater lives of love and charity, of faith and hope, both internally and externally.
Lately, I have heard the voice of Christ within my being, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens and I will give you rest.”  Lord, I am truly tired of the ways of the world and its aimless pursuit.
Man keeps complicating the world because of greed.  Nothing much has changed over the years as the hearts of Man continue to be hardened.
Corrupt leaders, playing god, continue to force its rule in countries like Malaysia and we continue to pray for the chastisement of these followers of the evil one.
By the grace of God, I have given notice to retire from the greedy corporate world where the mad pursuit of shareholders profit is primary.  The ways of the world are not the way of the Spirit.  I do not require human comfort but rather will place my complete trust in God.
Blessed Easter to all and God Bless!
